South East England Faiths Forum’s (SEEFF) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 6th February 2023 on Zoom. The Chair presented his report mentioning the Climate Change event held in March where The Bishop of Reading Olivia Graham and Dr Carol Boulter spoke about Climate Change. The Chair also mentioned that SEEFF is planning both on-line and in-person events for the coming months. SEEFF 2018 Annual Conference – Engaging with Intolerance  Newbold College, Binfield RG42 4AN 10am-4pm 25 October 2018 The Conference opened by SEEFF Chair Bede Gerard who introduced the Chair of the Conference Margaret Lenton who gave a short brief about the essence of the conference: How do we engage with intolerance at all levels. SEEFF 2017 Annual Conference was held on 17 October 2017 at at the Performance Arts Centre of Worth Abbey, Crawley. The conference heard key speakers Dr Shakil Malik, Clinical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Canon David Wilbraham, Force Chaplain Thames Valley Police and National Police Chaplain followed by joint presentations on Multi-faith Chaplaincy by Dr Amra Bone, Chaplain Bristol University, lecturer in Islamic Studies, Mrs Parkash Sohal, Sikh Chaplain to Birmingham University Hospitals, and Mrs Man Kaur, Hindu Chaplain to Birmingham University Hospitals. Living With Difference – Religion in a Diverse Society Conference will look at the implications of the Butler-Sloss report into ‘The Place of Belief and Faith in British Society’. Education and religions and their inter-relationships are in the news all the time, but do we really understand just what that connection is? The South East England Faiths Forum (SEEFF), in conjunction with the University of Winchester and the National Association of Standing Advisory Councils on Religious Education (NASACRE) hosted SEEFF’s 2015 Annual Conference 3rd September, on The Role of Faith in British Schools/Education at the University of Winchester to explore that connection. The plenary speaker will be Alan Brine, recently retired as the lead on Religious Education for Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education). 

SEEFF’s 2014 Annual Conference “Who Cares? A Conference on Faith, Culture and Mental Health” was held on 16th October 2014, at Finchampstead Church Centre. The Conference was a joint initiative between Oxford Diocesan Committee for Inter-faith Concerns, SEEFF, Art Beyond Belief and Berkshire Health NHS Foundation. The conference was attended by those concerned with the relationship between faith, culture, religion and mental health. Participants will include mental health practitioners from different faiths and none as well as faith leaders from different communities.

“Have you heard the one about the Rabbi, the Priest and the Mullah? … The Value of Religious Literacy in Business and Society” You just can’t go through life being ignorant of so much that is important to other people. That was the message which came across very strongly from the joint SEEFF/University of Winchester Conference about Religious Literacy which took place at the University in June 2014.
